Trauma wound

The patient

A foal was injured, probably due to being trampled by the mare.

The treatment

The wound was sutured approximately 12 hours after the injury. Antibiotic treatment for three days.
Dressing used: Sorbact® Absorption Dressing. First dressing change after two days. After that, every third day.
Rest in the stable for three and a half weeks. Bandaged for a total of five weeks.
