1

Prepare the wound in accordance with local clinical practice. Choose the right size of dressing for the wound. Ensure the surrounding skin is clean and dry. Remove the dressing from the packaging using an aseptic technique. If the dressing is cut, any remaining opened and unused parts of the dressing should be discarded. Moisten the dressing with a sterile saline solution.

2

Pack the wound cavity and ensure that the dressing is in direct contact with the wound surface. If more than one dressing is used, check that all parts are in direct contact with each other to ensure an even distribution of negative pressure. Count the number of dressing parts used and enter the number in the patient's notes.

3

Ensure that the wound filling is not in direct contact with healthy skin. The pressure level should be set as instructed by your vet, and should be based on indications and the condition of the wound. Continue in accordance with the recommendations for the NPWT system used.

! Sorbact® NPWT Wound Filler should be changed within 48–72 hours.
