Clean the wound as instructed by your vet. Choose a suitable dressing size. The dressing should overlap the edges of the wound by at least 2 cm. Remove the dressing from the packaging without touching the green Sorbact® surface. Any remaining opened and unused parts of the dressing should be discarded.

Sorbact® Absorption Dressing is a sterile wound dressing that binds bacteria and fungi. It consists of a green Sorbact® wound contact surface, combined with an absorbing core and a white backing film. Sorbact® Absorption Dressing absorbs and retains wound fluid, thereby reducing the risk of maceration, and creates a moist wound environment.
Intended use
Sorbact® Absorption Dressing is designed for use in the treatment of clean, contaminated, colonized, or infected wounds with moderate to severe levels of exudation.

Apply the dressing. Ensure that the green side is in direct contact with the entire wound surface.

Redressing suggestions: Re-affix with gauze, thin cotton, or Softban.

Place cotton around the leg.

Place gauze around the cotton, first loosely and then gradually tighter, to stabilize the bandage. Tie with a small knot on the front of the leg or side of the tibia to avoid pressure on the tendons.

Vetwrap: Begin with the middle of the bandage, before moving downwards and then upwards. Not too tight; you should be able to insert your finger between the bandage and the leg once you have finished. Never bind Vetwrap directly onto the fur, as it could injure the leg.
How often the dressing needs to be changed will depend on how much the wound is exuding and its general condition. If the clinical condition allows, the dressing can remain in place for up to seven days.
