Why Sorbact®?
Exactly like a normal plaster or dressing. But totally unique.
Sorbact® offers all the features you would expect from a normal dressing, but at the same time its bacteria-binding properties make it totally unique. The Sorbact® surface utilizes a completely natural process that binds the bacteria, making Sorbact® especially suitable in situations where a wound is exposed to an increased risk of infection.
How it works
As soon as you apply Sorbact® and its unique surface comes into direct contact with the wound, the process of binding the bacteria and fungi to its surface begins.
Bacteria bind to the surface
Bacteria and fungi in the wound bind to the Sorbact® surface. By reducing the number of bacteria and fungi in the wound, healing is made easier and the risk of infection is reduced
Bacteria are removed when the dressing is changed
When you change the dressing, the microorganisms are removed – the bacteria and fungi bind to the unique Sorbact® surface. It is completely natural, without any chemically active substances entering the wound.
Sorbact® is suitable for all types of wounds at all stages
A Sorbact® dressing can be used on large and small wounds that are dry or exuding, superficial or deep. As Sorbact® dressings do not emit any active substances into the wound, they can be used from the very outset to prevent infection. The dressing can also be used to reduce the number of microorganisms as part of the short-term or long-term treatment of wounds that are already infected.
Who can use Sorbact®?
A Sorbact® dressing is suitable for treating different types of wounds in animals, including horses, dogs and cats. The unique bacteria-binding surface of Sorbact® also makes the dressing particularly suitable for use with animals that spend a lot of time in environments where dirt could easily enter the wound, and where there is an increased risk of infection.
